The Preschool Course is designed for the crucial years before formal schooling, when children are highly receptive to structured memory, language and cognitive development.
Our specially designed activities strengthen visual memory, logic and reasoning skills, while numeracy and language activities build essential foundations for Primary 1.
Confidence-building group activities are woven throughout the programme, helping children develop not only the skills to learn, but also the confidence to participate, communicate and learn alongside their peers.
Children progress to attending lessons independently without their parents by their side. This helps them develop greater independence, focus and confidence, while learning to listen, follow instructions, participate actively and take responsibility for their own learning, laying a strong foundation for a confident start to Primary 1.

Independent Workbook Activities
Children complete structured workbook activities with teacher guidance, learning to listen, think, process information and complete tasks independently.
Parent Debrief
At the end of each lesson, parents are invited for a brief teacher debrief covering the activities and skills introduced, together with guidance on areas that may require additional support.

Children progress to attending lessons independently in our Heguru Preschool Course.
Children are gradually guided to think, process information and complete tasks on their own — rather than simply following instructions or relying on adults for every step.

Preparing Your Child for Primary 1
Starting Primary 1 is a major transition. Beyond academic knowledge, children need to be able to listen, concentrate, follow instructions, manage their belongings, complete tasks and learn with greater independence.
The Heguru Preschool Course helps children develop these important learning habits alongside memory, numeracy, language, reasoning and cognitive skills.
Our goal is not simply to prepare children for Primary 1, but to help them become confident, independent and capable learners from the very beginning.
Can My Child Join Heguru Preschool Course
Without Previous Heguru Experience?
Yes.
Children can join the Heguru Preschool Course even if they have not attended the Infant & Toddler Course or previous Heguru brain training lessons.
Our teachers guide new students through the programme and help them become familiar with the Heguru learning approach.
Children who have attended Heguru's earlier programmes may already be familiar with the lesson structure, but previous Heguru experience is not required.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can my child attend without attending brain training lessons before?
Yes, it is never too late to start brain training with Heguru Education.
Your child can join the Heguru Preschool Course even if they have not attended our earlier Brain Training lessons.
The Preschool Course is specially designed to build essential cognitive, learning and academic skills progressively, while introducing children to Heguru’s unique methods and activities. Our teachers will guide each child throughout the lessons and help them adapt to the programme.
However, children who have attended the earlier Brain Training programme will already have some familiarity with Heguru’s learning methods and may find the transition more seamless. The Preschool Course will then continue to build upon and further develop the foundation they have established.
Do parents attend the lessons?
No. Parents do not attend the Preschool Course with their child.
The Preschool Course is designed to encourage independent learning and classroom readiness. Children participate in activities on their own, follow the teacher’s instructions, complete their work with guidance from the teachers, and gradually develop the confidence to learn independently.
This also helps children build important skills such as attention, concentration, listening, following instructions and self-management—all of which are valuable in preparing them for Primary 1.
What happens after my child turns 7?
Heguru is designed as a continuous, age-progressive programme that supports your child's development from 6 months to 12 years old.
As your child grows, it is important to progress to the next age-appropriate course so that learning continues at the right pace. After completing this course, children will advance to the Heguru Primary Course (7-12 years old), where the curriculum builds upon the strong foundation developed in the earlier years.
